You're paying too much per customer. There's a better way.
builtbybehavior™
Affiliate
Performance-based creator marketing for DTC founders. No ad budget. No impression fees. You only pay when there's a sale — and we only match creators the science says will convert.
In Behavior We Trust™
Phase 1: Building the Match
You tell us your product, customer, and target CAC. We set up your entire affiliate infrastructure — tracking, commission structure, creator brief — within one week. Then we deliver 10+ vetted creator profiles matched to your niche within 48 hours of signing.
Phase 2: Building Momentum
Creators go live with unique tracking links and discount codes. We run a 7-day launch sprint, check in with every creator, and monitor every sale in real time. Your first performance report becomes your proof of concept — and our sales asset for the next brand.
Phase 3: Building Scale
We prune underperformers, double down on what works, and continuously expand your creator roster. Weekly reports land in your inbox. Payouts are handled automatically. You run your business — we run the program.
Built for both sides
of the table.
You're spending too much on paid ads.

- Full management — no internal hire, no tool subscriptions
- Weekly ROAS reporting so you always know what's working
You're leaving money on the table.

- Net-30, automated — no invoices, no chasing, no awkward follow-ups
- Zero admin — we onboard you, set up links, and brief the campaign
- No posting quotas — authentic content converts, we never dictate your voice
- You approve every brand before committing — full veto power, always
Every other affiliate agency tells you
what worked after the spend.
builtbybehavior tells you before.
We are the only affiliate firm applying six decades of behavioral science to assess conversion likelihood before a creator ever posts. Six frameworks. One composite score. Evaluated before a single dollar is committed.
Jung's theory of universal archetypes — validated across cultures and applied to brand strategy by Mark and Pearson — identifies 12 recurring identity patterns that activate distinct emotional responses. Campbell's monomyth provides the narrative structure within which these archetypes operate. Applied as a practitioner methodology by McKinsey, Ipsos, and leading brand consultancies, archetype classification allows us to map every brand's core emotional trigger. We classify on intake against brand language, customer reviews, and top-performing organic content.
Audiences cast creators into archetypal roles based on the emotional register of their content. "You make me believe I can do this" — Hero. "You make me feel beautiful" — Lover. "I trust everything you recommend" — Sage. Brand and creator archetypes must be congruent or narratively compatible — Hero brand paired with Sage creator carries credible authority; Hero brand paired with Jester creator breaks the tonal signal. We score archetype compatibility before any match is presented.
Seligman et al. argue that human cognition is fundamentally oriented toward future simulation — that we are prospecting organisms constructing and evaluating possible selves as a core cognitive function. Extrapolating to consumer behavior, we hypothesize that buyers in identity-purchase categories are actively simulating a future self when evaluating creator content, and that creator-brand alignment with that simulated self-concept meaningfully increases purchase intention. Our brand intake asks: "Describe the life your customer is purchasing toward — not the product they are purchasing."
Damasio's research on VMPFC-damaged patients demonstrates that emotional states significantly influence and often precede deliberative decision-making — meaning affective signals interact with, rather than oppose, rational evaluation. Applied to creator marketing: a creator whose content produces an emotional register incongruent with the brand's category creates a misaligned affective signal that rational product evaluation cannot reliably overcome. Engagement rate measures attention — it does not measure affective alignment. We score for it.
Sirgy's self-congruity theory, published in the Journal of Consumer Research and replicated extensively, demonstrates that purchase intention is highest when a brand's perceived image is congruent with the consumer's self-concept. Escalas and Bettman extend this to reference groups: ideal self-congruity — the match between brand image and who the consumer aspires to become — drives the strongest purchase intention in aspirational categories. We score across all four self-congruity dimensions, weighted toward ideal self-congruity in wellness, beauty, and fashion.
Cialdini's identification principle — among the most replicated findings in social psychology — demonstrates that social proof is most powerful when the observer identifies with the source. When archetype congruence, prospective self alignment, affective register, and self-concept overlap are all high, the conditions for identification are maximally met. The audience does not merely process the recommendation — they experience the creator as a credible representative of the self they are purchasing toward. That psychological state is what our composite score is measuring.

We set up your complete affiliate infrastructure — tracking, attribution, commission structure, and creator brief — within 72 hours of signing. You receive 10+ behaviorally scored creator profiles matched to your brand archetype and customer's self-concept. You approve the roster.
Every creator is vetted by behavioral alignment score — not follower count, not engagement rate. Six dimensions scored before anyone is presented to you. Approved creators receive unique tracking links, discount codes, and a content brief written to activate the correct psychological trigger for your category.
Creators post. Every sale is attributed to the exact creator, content type, and tracking link that drove it. We check in with every creator during the sprint window and monitor performance daily. You see the data as it happens — no waiting for a monthly report.
The end-of-pilot report tells you which creator archetypes convert for your brand, at what rate, and on what content type. No other agency produces this analysis after 30 days. You now have proprietary intelligence about your own customer's purchase psychology — and a program that's already generating sales.
